With the increase in demand for air travel, the airports authority of India has undertaken the night landing projects and works are expected to be completed by march this year. This would facilitate the increase in the number of flights per day. Also total works worth of Rs. 47 crores would be undertaken for construction of new terminal building and parking lots. With very high occupancy ratios in the existing flights and future developments, the golden era has indeed begun.

A new & modern rajahmundry
A new master plan has been prepared for the development for the city and a survey in this regard has been undertaken. Despite the importance of this city, it reels under congestion,excessive flooding etc. However, it is all set to change in the new year if the master plan is implemented. High-rise buildings, sky scrapers, multiplexes and other such facilities would slowly be provided in Rajahmundry also. City would get 2 multiplexes as a part of the new master plan.
Cricket stadium to come up in Rajahmundry
The city will be able to host One-Day International cricket matches after the construction of a cricket stadium. Officials had allotted 16 acres of land belonging to the central jail for the purpose. The stadium construction works would be commenced this year and the cricket control board will take up the maintenance of the stadium. Imagine that!!! how nice would it be host international matches in the cultural headquarters.
FM waves touch rajahmundry
Well, FM radio is a buzz word now and the city is not behind in embracing this. Sun Network is going to launch its FM Radio programmes as new year gift to people of Rajahmundry. On 25th decemeber, the network started trial run. They have taken a well-furnished office on tilak road with sophisticated technology, high frequency towers and other installations. The programmes would be chalked out based on local customs, culture and tradition to air programmes round the clock.
