Rajahmundry-Bhadrachalam Strech of Godavari to be NW

A total of 170 kms on the Rajahmundry-Bhadrachalam strech of Godavari would be upgraded as National waterway(NW4) and the proposed works are scheduled to be completed by 2011-12. A bill has been passed in parliament recently. The proposed NW4 will also include 1,095-km Kakinada-Puducherry route linking two major rivers — the Godavari and the Krishna — and several canals — Kakinada Canal, Eluru Canal, Commamur Canal, Buckingham Canal and Kaluvely tank. The Rajahmundry-Bhadrachalam strech is of prime importance in terms of employment generation, cheaper and less polluted freight transportation.

Isckon-Rajahmundry committed to society

The Rajahmundry ISKCON temple is showing keen interest in taking over the mid-day meal scheme which is currently under government control. The advantages would be better execution, wider reach etc. ISCKON has solid track record of executing a similar program in other states. It's heartening that ISCKON is committed so much for the well being of the society.
